Wild Men: Closing 2020 — 16/12
Event Information
About this Event
As we close a chapter of a monumental year, we enter the void of the great beyond, stepping into the unknown.
2020 is one for the history books, where the human experience got turned on its head and a new era rushed in, with life never to be the same again.
The men of yesterday fought in wars, buried their emotions and over-controlled the way of life for all beings. These systems still live within us and our world is seeking transmutation of the old. To dream a new Earth, we need to congregate in sacred space to weave a new trajectory for the modern conscious man; a man who can hold his own, show up as an ally to all sentient life, walk softly across the plains and live with purpose.
We will meet during the Summer Solstice Portal to close out a turbulent year, to release the shackles of fear and ignite our best selves. It is time to walk confidently with our Earth Mother as a co-creator of love, peace, harmony and reconciliation.
We need to rise up now more than ever.

What attendees have expressed:
David Leckenby on his Wild Men experience
"Being a man can be a confusing, stressful and at times lonely journey. We were taught from early on to suppress our emotions and not to show weakness. Some of us are realising that this type of conditioning is at best holding us back from our potential and at worst extremely damaging to us physically, emotionally and spiritually. The time is ripe for a big change. Many of us yearn for a healthy path forward. One in which we can know ourselves free from others expectations, know what we really want in life, express ourselves fully and completely, and be able to give and receive support and inspiration with other men. I can think of no better way to support this journey than attending a Wild Men gathering"
Andy Cameron on his Wild Men experience
"I could never have fathomed the power of coming to Wild Men for the first time those months ago. I'd been toying with the idea of Men's groups for ages but held staunch resistance to the concept that dissolved the second I turned up. The lightning rush and potently delicious clarity I felt after we'd finished, more than vaporised my inner hesitations and this can be attributed squarely to the rad bunch of men in attendance and the deft space holding of legendary facilitators Dean and John. I felt so peaceful and at ease sharing my deepest and darkest juju and everyone listened with profound respect, a complete lack of judgement and warm dudelove. I'm dead keen to facilitate in the future such was the power of the gathering... we can sculpt a new frontier of modern manhood!
Blaise Rivalland on his Wild Men experience
"Absolutely speechless! I’m so grateful for the creation of this circle. The comfortable and judgement-free environment that Dean creates entices participants to share. I can now look back and honestly say that purely implementing the knowledge gained from the circle’s contributors has changed my life for the better. Endless thanks."
Facilitators:
Dean Benson
Across the globe I have travelled, studying and training in practices such as Animism, Shamanism, Daoism, Meditation, Ceremony and Energy Work. Through my transformation into greater levels of awareness, I now live life on my terms and with true purpose. Learning through experience and embodiment, my journey takes validation based on my extensive self exploration & initiations into Sacred Space Holding.
Dedicated to deepening my knowledge on the human experience, I was initiated into working as a Lemurian Ceremonialist by the Shamanic Dragon lineage. This space holding template comes into all aspects of my offerings from music to meditation. During recent years I have been teaching my own unique form of meditation and working energetically one-on-one with clients. This Spirit Alchemy work is based out of my home in Melbourne, where the years of training results in a safe high vibrational space of transformation. My non judgemental nature coupled with a strong desire for change, allows for me to assist others to move beyond their limitations, realise the true divinity within them and be the master of their universe.
John Wegman
John’s background is in yoga, tantra and meditation, in both traditional and contemporary forms. The space he intends to create is one of deep, authentic and lasting transformation. His understanding of the mind-body connection is a cornerstone of his work, exploring the ways in which we unconsciously hold ourselves back from personal evolution. John’s work is rooted in the wisdom of the heart, with a strong emphasis on vulnerability and integrity.
2019 saw John take on a new role as a facilitator with Man Cave, a non-profit organisation that runs workshops for young men in high schools, exploring topics such as mental health, emotional wellbeing, and healthy masculinity. He’s excited to now be sharing this work with an even wider range of men. He is also studying Psychology.
