Description

Why we need an Australian declaration for young children: Our Collective Commitment

Because early childhood development and learning is a broad-ranging and complex field it is critical that we are all clear about what is known and can be trusted as good quality evidence to drive policy and practice.

This year more than 100 leading stakeholders with recognised expertise in early childhood were invited to contribute to the development of a Declaration (of evidence) for Young Children. The Declaration demonstrates our shared commitment to ensuring robust evidence is used to improve outcomes for Australian children and families.

You are invited to attend the launch of the Declaration and hear what leading early childhood researchers and practitioners agree is the current state of early childhood evidence, as well as the actions needed to advance children’s outcomes in the early years.

Professor Stephen Zubrick will present the latest early childhood evidence addressing social class and the implications for policy and practice from the Life Course Centre research.

The 60 minute event will end with a brief overview of CoLab’s progress over the past year on our flagship initiatives.
