Event description

Description

The SA WHS Act 2012 requires all PCBU's and Officers to exercise due diligence and duty of care in terms of managing the workplace.

One of the ways to demonstrate due diligence is to develop and implement a WHS Hazard Register. The Register captures identified tasks or processes that may pose a risk to your employees. The task is then assessed in terms of potential hazards, risk and current controls. A current risk level is assigned and further reviewed (where required) once additional controls have been developed.

The final step is to review the residual risk level. The Register should be regularly reviewed in consultation with affected parties. Having a WHS Hazard Register in place and undertaking regular reviews will assist in demonstrating due diligence.

Attend this seminar to find out how having a WHS Hazard Register can assist your business in:

  • acquiring and keeping up-to-date knowledge of WHS matters
  • understanding the nature of the operations of the business or undertaking and the associated hazards and risks
  • ensuring appropriate resources and processes to eliminate or minimise risks to health and safety are in place
  • ensuring appropriate processes for receiving and considering information regarding incidents, hazards and risks and responding in a timely way are in place
  • ensuring that processes for implementation and compliance are in place
