Event description

Description

Geoff Turner, local resident and self confessed governance nerd, will lead a discussion that asks whether the traditional political descriptors of left and right are still working or whether the open-closed political spectrum* is a better way of characterising people and parties. And does this help us understand our local issues better?

*The open–closed political spectrum is an alternative to the standard left–right system, especially used to describe the cleavage in political systems in Europe and North America in the 21st century. In this system, parties and voters are arranged on an axis from open (socially liberal and globalist) to closed (culturally conservative and protectionist). (Wikipedia)

Over multiple conversational courses we will digest this meaty topic and all its implications. For best results we suggest tasting some of the suggested readings before arrival (check our Facebook Page for updates in the week before the event).

$25 for two courses (soup and main)
Limited capacity (16 guests)
