What's All the Fuss About Games in Business?
Thursday, 11 December 2014 from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm (AEDT)
San Francisco, California, USA
London, United Kingdom
The days of influencing people with just words are over. We're inviting you to come and experience the power of games and playfulness, in a safe and supported way. We could write pages justifying the use of games and playfulness in business. Instead, we'd prefer that you experience games for yourself.
We’ll show you how to use playfulness in a PowerPoint presentation.
We’ll show you the impact of having to make decisions when you don’t know the consequences, and how participatory games are being used to influence people's behaviour in surprising ways.
We’ll show you the principles that underpin the very best collaborators.
And we’ll show you what taking game-based practices into your business really means.
We'll share our experiences of using games-based approaches in businesses and organisations as diverse as banking, government, not-for-profits, humanitarian agencies, manufacturing, IT and universities.
We hope you'll join us. Numbers are limited to 30.
Your hosts bring a breadth of experience and knowledge:
Viv McWaters: Global Workshop Lead at Creative Facilitation
Marigo Raftopoulos: Gamification Guru and Researcher at Strategic Games Lab
Lee Ryan: Design Strategist at Springboard Ideas
Nicky Hayward-Wright: 21st Century Knowledge Management Specialist
At the end of this half-day session you'll go away with:
- experiences of various game approaches
- an understanding of the power of games to engage
- either wanting to know more, or you will have had your curiosity satisfied
- a smile on your face
