Event description

Description

Knowing what you know now about life, the universe and everything... if you could go back in time - what would you tell your 15 year old self?

Meet a panel of distinguished women talk about their lives, careers and everything they would tell their teenage selves. Plus if you're game, share your own story, and network with some amazing women over beautiful lunch platters and sparkling wine.

Panelists include:

The Hon Jane Garrett MP, former Minister for Emergency Services and Minister for Consumer Affairs, Gaming and Liquor Regulation. Jane was an Articled Clerk at Holding Redlich, senior advisor to Premier Steve Bracks, and Mayor of the City of Yarra. Jane is the member for Brunswick and is passionate about social inclusion and education.

Bree Knoester, Managing Partner of Adviceline Injury Lawyers, is a leader in Asbestos & Dust Diseases and was formerly at the Victorian Bar.

Margaret Selianakis, Director of Operations of Girls in Tech (Melbourne chapter) a global non-profit focused on the engagement, education and empowerment of girls and women who are passionate about technology.
Dr. Rowan Brookes, Telstra Business Women’s Awards winner, director of Education for the School of Biological Sciences.

The panel will be facilitated by Erica Myers-Tattersall, Victorian President of Soroptimist International, former 3RRR FM presenter and DJ.

This fundraising lunch is sponsored by Adviceline Injury Lawyers to raise much needed money for a very special breakfast being hosted by the wonderful women of Soroptimist International (think Rotary for chicks!) for 160 girls plus their teachers who attend Melbourne's most disadvantaged schools and are sadly at risk of not completing Year 12. This breakfast being hosted in August aims to inspire them to continue with their studies, and presents them with a range of strategies to help them cope with school and their personal lives.

If you can't make it, then would you please consider making a donation to sponsor one girl's breakfast or a table of eight girls and their teacher. For every $30 donation we will invite you to write an inspirational message and your best coping strategies, which we will pass on to a girl at the breakfast.

Lunch tickets are $60.00 plus booking fee.

So what exactly would you tell your 15 year old self...because she really needs to know.
