Troy Dodds will be talking about what it takes to get your story told in the media. How to write the perfect press release, how and when to pitch it to editors and procedures and how to get the best possible response. With the fast moving and changing nature of the media, this will be an informative talk about how to get your message out there for the lowest possible cost.
Troy has been the Managing Editor of The Western Weekender newspaper since 2009. The Weekender has been nominated as Newspaper of the Year three times under Troy's leadership and in 2016, Troy is a nominee for the prestigous Hegarty Scholarship at the Newspaper of the Year Awards.
Troy has worked in the media in Sydney for 15 years across a diverse range of mediums and topics.
He was the founder and Managing Editor of Australia's most successful theatre and arts website, AussieTheatre.com, for eight years. He's worked at media organisations such as Radio 2UE, Kick FM, NextGen Sports, The Blacktown Guardian and SportsData, and currently owns and operates Happy Hour Media - which specialist in voiceovers and communication assistance.
