Description

What is Public Art? - The Creative Dialogues Program 'The Basics Series'.

6pm – The Arts Precinct - 13th June 2017

Why does public art matter and what difference can it make to a vibrant city? How do artists become involved in developing a piece of artwork with and for the local community?

Wollongong has seen a great increase in public art over the last 5 years and Wollongong City Council has recently developed the city’s Public Art Strategy. Come along to this workshop to discover how to apply for upcoming opportunities and explore the impact public art has on our cultural landscape.

The Creative Dialogues Program

The Creative Dialogues Program 2017 offers two threads of conversation – The Basics Series and The Banter Series. The Basics Series is open to all and offers workshops and consultations for emerging artists of all disciplines. The Banter Series continues the conversation about how arts practice influences and shapes culture in Wollongong and around the world. All events are free and provided by Wollongong City Council Cultural Services.

Cultural Services is committed to providing access to the Creative Dialogues Program for people with disability. Please inform us (Ph: 42277111) of your access requirements as a variety of cultural venues will be booked.
