Event Details

What is activism – exploring the different ways people work for change.

There is a renewed interest in activism and the power of the people to affect change, that are evident in current political debates around climate change, migration, marriage equality and indigenous rights. The panel will discuss their own experiences of activism, societal trigger points and the various ways people work to improve society from marching, to badge making to sit-ins and craftivism. The conversation will be part of Victoria University’s 16 Days of Activism program.

Panel members

Clare Land (moderator) - Author and Community Practitioner
Edith Shepherd - Young Workers Centre
Dr Paul Sinclair - Director Campaigns, ACF
Sarah Seahorse - wearable artist and craftivist
