Event description

Description

When we dip a monitoring bore or construct a production bore the data usually finds its way into a report. But what of the more centralised options for data storage? How does data make its way onto these platforms, how do we access it, and what data are we missing out on?

This talk outlines the changes, challenges and opportunities that the hydrogeology community are presented with when storing and sharing data. The talk includes an update from the Bureau of Meteorology regarding their nationalised database initiatives, as well as benchmark examples of hydrogeological data capture and storage processes in Australia’s other states and overseas. The talk also provides an overview of what is occurring in the technology space and assesses whether modern databases and data-visualisation tools help our hydrogeological workflow.

If you use or generate hydrogeological data then you should attend this interesting and informative event. You will also have the opportunity to provide feedback on your requirements and goals for data-storage and data-distribution in Western Australia.
