WHAT EMPLOYERS ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOUNG JOB SEEKERS

Ivan Neville, from the Labour Market Research and Analysis Branch in the federal Department of Employment, will present on the challenges and opportunities in the contemporary Tasmanian jobs market. The presentation will bring a unique mix of expertise in the labour market situation facing VET students and young job seekers transitioning to work, and provide information to increase their chances of employment. The presentation will give insights into what employers are looking for in young job seekers and how they recruit for their vacancies.
Biography of Ivan Neville
Ivan has spent more than 15 years in the Department of Employment, and its predecessors, in a number of different research and analysis roles. He is currently the manager of the Labour Market Research and Analysis Branch and has responsibility for the analysis of the Australian labour market and the identification of the current and future demand for skills. He has also given many presentations around the country on a broad range of labour market issues.
Ivan has also been a Director of Graduate Careers Australia since 2005.
