After kicking off 2019 with a terrific panel discussion looking at a week in the life of an OD professional, all the expectations, challenges and excitements, we’re ready to shift gear. Join us in March to get an alternative perspective, to hear what CEOs want from OD.  What expectations and needs do CEOs turn to OD for, whether provided in-house or via external consultants? What’s the practical and lived experience of partnering with OD? What are the lessons learned - for CEOs and practitioners! 

 

Join our special guests, Bevan Warner, Chief Executive of Launch Housing, and past Managing Director, Victoria Legal Aid and Kath Sutherland, Head of Talent, Capability and Learning, BP, for a fascinating, engaging deep dive into the world of a CEO, and ODs place in it.

 

Bevan WarnerBevan Warner is the current Chief Executive Officer for Launch Housing one of Victoria's largest providers of housing and homeless support services, reaching over 18,000 Victorians each year. As a former Managing Director of Victoria Legal Aid, Bevan arranged legal advice and advocacy services to over 90,000 vulnerable Victorians each year.

 

Central to each role has been a concern for equitable treatment of people who have experienced trauma, and who are exposed to the exercise of power by individuals entrusted to confer entitlements or to issue sanctions for or to fellow citizens. Each role entails leading a workforce exposed to vicarious trauma, arising from the work itself and exacerbated by the many policy and system failures that set individuals and our community up to fail.

 

With a belief and passion for individual human dignity, and the need to create healthy organisations, Bevan is well placed to comment on the important role that organisational development professionals can play in positive culture change.

 

Kath SutherlandWith over 25 years’ experience working across a range of industries and sectors in Asia Pacific and Global regions, Kath enjoys working in fast paced and changing environments and can influence and build executive sponsorship for organisational capability and change initiatives.

Unlocking human energy drives Kath and she is passionate about exercising conscious leadership and has spent most of her 25 years leading teams. 

Kath’s career experience includes Telecommunication, Utilities, Financial Services, Insurance, has worked briefly in the Public Sector and established her own consulting business in 2013.

More recently in the Mining sector with BHP Billiton where she spent the last 5 years in a global role as Senior Manager, Organisational Capability for Corporate and Marketing Division and now in the Energy market having spent the last 2.5 years as Head of Talent and Capability, AsPac BP.

A creative thinker and resilient leader, Kath has the capacity to deliver transformational projects in areas of talent management, leadership, culture and capability development that positively impacts organisational performance.
