Cr Trent McCarthy is from Darebin Council which declared a climate emergency in December 2016. Join us to hear about that experience .

About this Event

Trent was first elected to Darebin council in 2008 and currently serves on the climate emergency Darebin committee, the Darebin nature trust and the northern alliance for greenhouse action. Darebin council declared a climate emergency in December 2016. Trent will discuss the experience of making the world’s first government-level declaration and what has been done since then to address the climate emergency in Darebin and beyond.

You are welcome to come at 11am for the South Gippsland Conservation Society AGM. Trent will give his speech at 12pm followed by a question and answer session. We invite you to stay afterwards for a chat over lunch. Please book a ticket so we know how much food to bring!
