About/Information:

The Department of Environment, Water & Natural Resources and Birds SA are running two bird identification mornings to help you identify and name some of the shorebirds and water birds seen at St Kilda and the Magazine Road wetlands. Experienced ornithologists will assist you to develop your bird watching skills and thus obtain the most enjoyment. You will learn about some of the special adaptations and features to help identify birds and gain an insight into why these areas are important for birds.

Suitable for children age 8 years and older (children age 6 to 8 years may need parent help handling binoculars.)

Meeting Point:

Car park at the Magazine Wetlands, Magazine Road, Dry Creek,

What to bring:

  • Long trousers and long sleeved top recommended

  • Hat/cap and sun screen

  • Sturdy footwear

  • Warm jumper and rainproof jacket just in case

  • Pair of binoculars and bird field guide (Binoculars will be available on the day)
