Description

The last few years have seen a number of important changes to employment law. Some, like the Full Court of the Federal Court's decision in WorkPac v Skene, have been very topical.

This seminar will provide an overview of some key changes from the past 3 years to legislation, Modern Awards and case law. These changes include:

  • When a casual is not a casual. Here we will discuss WorkPac v Skene and the recent regulatory response;

  • Domestic Violence Leave;

  • Casual conversion clauses which now appear in most Awards;

  • A new class of contraventions of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) called "Serious Contraventions"; and

  • Changes to making Enterprise Agreements.
