This Spring, immerse yourself in rhythm in a fun and social way, and discover the numerous benefits of drumming!
This series of six 90-minute classes on Tuesday nights in South Hobart is an opportunity to learn traditional rhythms on djembe drums and become comfortable drumming with others.
This course will develop your skills as a player and increase your confidence to participate in drum circles and community rhythm events etc. The 6 weeks will culminate in a performance at our Community Rhythm Immersion Event on Saturday November 12 with special guests Naby Bangoura (Guinea) and Simon Lewis (Melbourne).
Online - $105 for 6 sessions

On the night - $20 per session
Some djembes will be provided but please BYO if you have one.

Your Teacher: Tara Tucker has studied this form of music with drumming ensembles and master drummers in several West African countries. She has taught djembe and dundun all over the world, including Australia, the US, Indonesia, Japan, India, China & Vietnam. Tara is one of only 2 Australian djembe teachers officially endorsed by the legendary djembe master Mamady Keïta (Guinea).
