Description

YOU’RE INVITED TO SEE HOW LIGHTWEIGHT TIMBER FRAMING IS CHANGING THE WAY WA THINKS ABOUT BUILDING

Wesbeam will explore how lightweight timber framing can be an economic and innovative solution to the WA market challenges. This is a technique widely used in the Eastern States and is now gaining popularity in the west.

Industry leaders - including world-renowned architect Dr. David Bylund - invite you to see first-hand how lightweight framing can deliver exceptional load-bearing and engineering characteristics to meet the design needs of today and the commercial realities of building in a very competitive market.

• See real life case studies where lightweight framing has produced significant cost savings without compromising on quality for a range of different building types

• Learn how Wesbeam’s new software delivers whole-of-house savings

• Discover how timber eliminates the need for slow-setting wet pour concrete and speeds up the job

• See how lightweight framing mean less earthworks and footings especially on sloping or difficult sites

• Hear from a QLD based developer builder experienced in multi-residential projects using lightweight

Meet our heavyweights.

Dr David Bylund (B.Env, B. Arch, PhD) heads Wesbeam’s Tall Timber Building Systems. He’s an architect and a passionate believer in timber and its capacity to build tomorrow’s buildings better. David has worked on many architectural project types ranging from large scale, multi-million dollar commercial, institutional and industrial projects to residential, office and retail fit-outs. Hear from David on the emerging opportunities for modern engineered timber design and construction.

Danny Lake is Wesbeam’s East Coast Regional Manager with a career spanning 20 years in the frame and truss industry. Danny will explain the benefits of LWF, how it’s used across Australia and share some key learnings for Western Australia.

Stephen Dayus (B.Eng – Structural) is Wesbeam’s Product Development Engineer. He has a passion for computer design systems and sits on the committee overseeing the conversion of Timbertech software for Australian use. Stephen will showcase the engineering smarts of the Wesbeam software and the benefits of efficient design.
