This tour explores a unique Ramsar listed wetland ecosystem right on the edge of suburbia. The Convention on Wetlands, called the Ramsar Convention, is an intergovernmental treaty that provides the framework for national action and international cooperation for the conservation and wise use of wetlands and their resources. Come behind the scenes to see how a former saltworks is being managed to conserve migratory shorebirds of the East Asian Flyway. A great opportunity to gain access to an area not open to the general public with ranger commentary. After a morning by the bay enjoy a fine dining and wine tasting experience at the Shadowfax Winery.
What to bring: hat, sensible walking shoes (minimal walking), water bottle, sunscreen, spotting scope or binoculars (if available)
