Event description

Description

Do you want to complete your professional development hours while learning valuable skills and knowledge to support your students in building their resilience, emotional regulation and self-awareness?

Then join us for a 3-hour highly interactive workshop designed to integrate the key building blocks for staff wellbeing and leadership, mindfulness-based emotional intelligence, self-awareness, mental and emotional resilience, and engagement.

PLUS, take time out to enjoy some drinks and nibbles while networking with fellow Sydney teachers and principals!

Drawing on our experience of delivering programs to tens of thousands of students across Australia, we have developed a training program for your teachers.

Wellbeing is a trainable skill; children can learn respect, empathy, responsible behaviour, and other social and emotional competencies that help them to succeed in school and life. Classroom teachers build awareness and learn how to deliver these important skills in the classroom.

Developing teaching practices that support the development of students’ physical, emotional, social and intellectual skills, through all stages of maturity.

Participants will:

  • Gain an understanding of how stress affects the brain and personal wellbeing
  • Appreciate the foundations of wellbeing and the brain’s negativity bias
  • Understand – and practice – how focused attention / mindfulness / emotional intelligence supports well-being
  • Combine the principles of self-leadership with healthy lifestyle attributes to improve their individual wellbeing and classroom management
  • Experience the power of generous listening as a tool for conflict management and developing compassion
  • Explore how the mind works through neuroscience and psychology, as well as through first-hand exploration in a practice called mindfulness-based emotional intelligence
  • Develop greater awareness of the link between physiology, health and our thinking

Life Skills Group Professional Development programs provide practical and interactive training that enables classroom teachers to create focused, harmonious and positive learning environments.
