Event description

Description

Thanks to the support of Providence Community Group Incorporated, we have created a Volunteer Welcome Program for Providence.

This unique program is designed so that every person living at Providence is given a personal welcome.

This training session is for people who want to help out by becoming a volunteer welcomer.

So what does that mean?

  • You will attend a training and induction session (like this one) where you will find out all there is to know about Providence, what is on, where to direct people for information.
  • You will be allocated a couple of streets that you will be responsible for.
  • You will be provided with a welcome gift (provided by Amex) and some printed information to give to your neighbours
  • This will create an opportunity for them to ask you questions and find out information such as, what’s on, what groups there are, resident survey, when to put the rubbish bin out or even where to get free trees from Council.
  • We believe you will be warmly welcomed when you knock on the door, because who doesn’t want to open the door to a smiling face and a 'welcome to the neighbourhood' gift
  • You will get to volunteer when it suits you in your own timeframe

To be a volunteer, you will need to;-

  • Be a financial member of Providence Community Group Incorporated (but don’t worry if you aren’t already you can join on the night, just bring your $1 membership fee).
  • Attend a training and induction session (like this one)
  • Be well presented, friendly and reliable
  • Initially, you will be knocking on doors of people who already live here and it will take some time but after a couple of weeks, you will only have to volunteer when you see someone move in, it might end up taking 2 hours a year or less. You will get to pick how many streets you feel comfortable to cover, so you will be in control of how much time you need to give.

In return you will be making a positive contribution to your community as you help connect and support people who live here (and you might even make a friend or two).

This is probably one of the most powerful ways to help build your community with the least amount of hours of volunteering.

Volunteers must be over 18 years.

Any questions please contact Felicity on 0408 314 525 or felicity@providencecommunity.com.au

If you have a local business and you want to include any vouchers or information in the welcome pack, please contact Felicity.
