Event description

Description

Please note: Meditation will start at 12.15pm.

What can you expect to learn:

  • You can expect to learn how to calm your mind and find that gap between thoughts where the magic happens.
  • You will be able to become aware of the energy centres in your body and have their blockages released.
  • Your connection to something much greater than your body, which is part of you will become easier to be aligned.
  • You may find it easier to accept and love your physical body.

How do you know if these sessions are for you:

  • You have something stressful happening in your life and you feel lost.
  • You have always wanted to learn how to have a calm mind and be less stressed but you don’t know how.
  • You are ‘stuck’ in your life situation at the moment and are looking for some help to move forward.
  • You have that gnawing feeling inside that there is more to life but buying items, eating, drinking etc.only fills the void temporarily and you want more.

My Background:

It is one of my greatest joys to assist people on their meditation and soul awakening journey. My introduction to meditation began almost 25 years ago, when like a lot of people I was drawn to meditation due to an upheaval in my life. My marriage of five years had abruptly ended and I found myself completely at a loss on how to cope with my new circumstances.

I now know from having worked with lots of people over the years that it’s not unusual for some kind of difficult life event to occur before we begin searching for a deeper meaning to life.

My meditation training began under the instruction of the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition. I learnt how to meditate and studied some of their spiritual texts while living in Dublin and attending some retreats at Dzchezen Beara in the beautiful county of Cork, in Ireland. However, the meditation I teach is totally non-denominational and is not affiliated with form of organised religion.

As I mentioned above, although my journey along the path of meditation and spiritual awakening began 25 years ago, I haven’t always stayed on my path. However, it has never been too far away from who I am. In Australia, I studied a little bit of Zen Meditation and in more recent years Raja Yoga level I and level II with the Brahmi Kumari’s.

Currently on a personal level, I began teaching meditation a number of years ago, in individual settings as well as to groups. These days, I have developed a daily practice that I couldn’t imagine living without. In fact, nearly seven years ago I credit my meditation practice with saving my life. It was because of having some quite, inner reflective work every day that I was drawn to notice a spot on my body. The spot didn’t look anything special from an external perspective and when examined by a well known skin specialist I was assured it was nothing significant.

Luckily, I was in touch with my body and insisted that I get the small spot removed and tested. As it turned out, it was Melanoma Stage II. So, I truly accredit my meditation practice as something that saved my life. Hence, one of the reasons why I am so passionate to teach others.
