Event description
Without the labs we risk making assumptions and limiting our understanding of each patient to that which is ‘visible’.

About this Event

The Politics and Potency of Pathology

Optimal use and interpretation of conventional pathology testing (LFTs, FBE, Iron Studies etc) can make what is otherwise invisible in our patients, suddenly visible.

Access to and accurate understanding of these, increase the safety and efficacy of all health professionals by providing us with the totality of patient information available, which we can then more confidently base our treatment decisions upon.

When is fatigue a simple iron deficiency and when is it something more sinister that only recognition of a pathology pattern would reveal?

Without the labs we risk making assumptions and limiting our understanding of each patient to that which is ‘visible’.

In this webinar Rachel will discuss:

• The politics of pathology – rules for referral, avenues for accessing results, the promise and pitfalls of direct referral by CAM practitioners including case illustrations.

• Discussion of basic concepts of (non)conventional lab interpretation and how without our eyes, these insightful labs are being under utilised.

• Shared language – how to take your place on the shared care team with regard to pathology results.

• Case illustrations of how included this in our understanding of a patient can revolutionise your understanding, management and outcomes.
