About this Event

Lower Back Pain vs SIJ Pain

This webinar will focus on lower back pain vs SIJ pain. Sometimes it can be a little confusing when trying to establish whether it is the lumbar spine or the SIJ causing the clients pain and restricted range of motion. When it comes to testing the SIJ there are many tests that have poor reliability and validity that can lead to false positives.

This webinar will focus on the most reliable and valid methods of testing the SIJ, and which SIJ tests to combine to increase the sensitivity and specificity of the examination. A thorough subjective examination will then be covered looking for clues to help us formulate a working diagnosis, followed by the objective examination using current evidence based research for the lumbar spine and SIJ.

Once all this information has been collected a specific treatment plan will be implemented for the lumbar spine and then the SIJ. Associated anatomy trains will be included as part of the treatment plan, as well as a self management corrective exercise plan for the client. Differential diagnosis will be discussed using clinical reasoning skills to rule in/out other pathologies.
