Event description

Description

Enrolments are now open for the strengthening practice in responding to domestic and family violence toolkit for community housing provider’s webinar next month.

This webinar will walk you through the toolkit and introduce you to all of its components. It will enable you to start thinking through how you can implement the Toolkit resources in your housing organisation as you commit to building your response to managing this complex issue.

Whilst the Toolkit has been designed for Community Housing Providers, its intention is to also strengthen the partnership/collaboration between Community Housing Providers and DFV services/Specialist Homelessness Services in relation to DFV matters. We therefore would like to further encourage the strengthening of such collaboration by inviting Community Housing Providers and Specialist Homelessness Services to attend this webinar.

Once registered for the webinar you will receive an email with the link to the GoToMeeting site with log in details. Please feel free to contact the Federation for any additional information on 02 9281 7144.

There is also the option to have one of our consultants attend your organisation to deliver the session face to face, which will involve tailoring the session to suit you. This involves practical assistance by the consultant to allow your organisation to develop a strategy to implement the Toolkit. There is also potential to involve community housing providers, Domestic and Family Violence Services and Specialist Homelessness Services in your area to collaborate on domestic and family violence matters.

For a more in depth exploration of domestic and family violence in the context of the housing sector, the Centre for Training in Social Housing also offers the CHCDFV001 Recognise and Respond Appropriately to Domestic and Family Violence unit. This unit will give you an opportunity to explore domestic and family violence further in the context of housing. More information about this course and enrollment is available at: http://www.communityhousing.org.au/T1_training.html

Please contact Kevin Saide to further discuss this option on 02 9281 7144.
