About this event
Delissa Walker is a Kuku Yalanji woman from the Mossman/Daintree Rainforest region of far north Queensland, who weaves traditional basketry using fibres from the endemic black palm tree. Her pieces are included in the long water: fibre stories exhibition showing at NorthSite Contemporary Arts..
This practical workshop will focus on fibre skills sharing, focusing on simple weaving techniques using natural fibres. The workshop will also provide opportunities for exhibition artist, Delissa Walker, to discuss her work in long water: fibre stories through the connection of workshop content.
