This in-person experience invites you to slow down, connect with culture, and learn traditional Ngarrindjeri & Ngadjuri weaving techniques. Guided by Sonya, participants will explore traditional methods, materials, and storytelling through fibre, while gaining insight into the deep cultural significance of weaving as a practice of care, connection, and cultural maintenance.
Whether you are brand new to weaving or looking to refine your skills, this workshop offers a welcoming and relaxed environment for all experience levels. Sonya’s teaching style is generous, supportive, and grounded in lived cultural practice, making this a truly special opportunity to learn directly from a respected First Nations artist and cultural practitioner.
