Event description

Description

I'm so excited to be offering this experience to the world - a truly one-of-a-kind opportunity to connect deeply with the indigenous KhoiSan (bushmen) people of Southern Africa, in a ten day journey to the remote and beautiful Kalahari desert country. This a truly off- the-beaten- track cultural adventure like no other ever offered, its open-hearted, close-up, personal and unique. A transformational journey - you will never be the same again. It is a window into what their world really looks like, not an idealised, romantic vision, but as it looks here, now. In this truth, we will be able to deeply connect with each other and share our hopes and dreams, as humans on the same planet, as souls connected by our hearts.

See the huge rose quartz rock and smaller pieces which riddle the landscape in this area. A special place indeed! Bush drive or optional (pre- booked only) special rapid rafting trip on the Orange river (grade 2 and 3 rapids), then on to Riemvasmaak hot springs for a traditional bushman/ Khoi meal, dancing and a soak in hot springs under the stars. Accommodation at Riemvasmaak.

Day five: Drive to our accommodation near Andriesvale (4 hours), see the huge, amazing sociable weaver nests that line the road, in trees and on telephone poles. (We call them drop bears because that’s what they look like!) Relax at the pool.

Day six to eight: Breakfasts provided. Kalahari desert festival (KDF), which includes Weavery’s informal cultural exchange weaving workshops (and possibly other bush crafts like traditional doll making TBA). http://www.kdfest.com/

If we are lucky, we could even see a lion or a cheetah!
