Event description

Description

We have so much stuff that a multi-billion dollar storage industry has evolved, and such a distorted food supply system that we throw a third of what we buy away. Not only is living smaller great for our own wellbeing, it's essential for the planet. But how? What are some design parameters and skills that will help us use the space and resources we have more elegantly?

Discover how to eat with a lower carbon footprint by using local weeds to create delicious and nutritious meals. You will learn how to identify common edible weeds, and how to harvest and cook with them. Then co-design together how we might implement a small footprint philosophy into a coliving model for Melbourne.

//What the evening will entail:
- Edible Weeds workshop with Annie Raser-Rowland, co-author of the best-selling "The Weed Forager's Handbook: A Guide to Edible and Medicinal Weeds in Australia"
- Co-design workshop exploring how we might build a space to have a small footprint.
- Light drinks and nibbles provided.
- Early access to become a Base member

You can pre-register for $20 or $25 on the door (credit card only please).

//The Base ethos (we ask that we all are aware of these):
- We nurture diversity and diverse opinion
- All are welcome and expected to welcome all
- Through acknowledging the place in which we are in, we make conscious effort to leave a net-positive footprint

BIG love, the Base family.
