About this event

In this fully supported, hands-on workshop, suitable for beginners or those with some experience, you will practice skills and increase your confidence in painting with watercolours. You will learn about the relationships between water, brush, paper and pigment; and explore the 3 essential watercolour painting techniques. Additionally, you will learn one or two basic drawing techniques to help you create outlines for your paintings, using amazing native songbirds and flowering plants found in Kattang Nature Reserve, as subject matter.

Diane is the Artist in Residence at Camden Head Pilot Station for the last 3 weeks of July. A Visual Arts teacher with over 30 years of experience teaching drawing, painting, design and photo media to adults and teenagers, at university, secondary schools and in community groups, Diane’s teaching style caters for individual differences and prior knowledge, to ensure you learn in a personalised and caring learning environment.

By the end of this 4.5 hour workshop, you will have developed a foundation for using watercolours; experimented with a range of painting styles including bold, colourful washes; expressive brushstrokes; luminous glazes; and a contemporary botanical style of painting.

Some basic materials will be supplied for this workshop, however, you are encouraged to bring your own watercolour kit or materials. For a materials list, please email Diane at digoodman@me.com

Please note: This workshop is running on 2 separate dates so there are 2 separate Eventbrite Ticketing sites - this ticket is for the first workshop, on Thursday 22nd July 9.30 am - 2pm

CoVid safe procedures

CoVid entry procedures will be in place, and due to the ongoing nature of outbreaks, participants will need to bring their own food and water bottle, for morning tea and lunch. However, tea and coffee will be provided throughout the workshop. Please bring your own mug or cup.

If you have any enquiries, please email at digoodman@me.com or call on 0409319845.
