Correct Installation of Water Stops for Compliance to AS3740
Course Overview
Installing water stops and waterproof membranes to internal wet areas is commonly misunderstood by many tilers and builders. Many do not understand that, right from the first shower, a sub-tile water table accumulates until it forces its way to unprotected building materials, such as timber architraves, causing them to swell. This can then generate rot and mould issues impacting the integrity of the works and the health of the occupants.
In this webinar we take a step-by-step look at the mandatory locations where water stops should be installed to comply with AS3740-2010. You will learn strategies to ensure that the builder, the tiler or the water proofer not only installs the water stops, but adheres to the building code.
Main Takeaways
• Understanding sub-tile water damage
• Water stops and why they commonly fail
• Compliant installations to AS3740-2010
