About this Event

Course Description

Water is the most important resource in our lives; but how much do we truly understand about it?

It's important for us to protect our water and care for its quality. In relation to coffee brewing, it is the main material used to dissolve the flavour, the acid, and sweet compounds from ground coffee. We invest greatly in our coffee; where it is sourced, how it is harvested and processed. How can we not take a closer look into water? Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) encourages a serious standard of water in brewing coffee.

It matters a lot when water is filtered and sourced differently. From examining and tasting water to scientific testing, you will feel the delicate differences among them and link them to the cup profile we would have in various coffee. The acidity, sweetness, bitterness, flavours, and mouthfeel of coffee can be prominently different as we compare them in different water. Let's figure out together the most suitable water for extracting it.
