Event description
An opportunity for interpreters and stakeholders from around the world to meet and discuss challenges and developments within our industry.

About this Event

https://wasliparis2019.com

The WASLI Paris 2019 conference theme is “Honouring the Past, Treasuring the Present and Shaping the Future”. At this conference we will celebrate collaboration amongst interpreters and Deaf communities around the world.

The Conference is made up of many parts:

Tuesday 16 July - Pre Conference workshops (seperate price)

Wednesday 17 July - WASLI Regional and General Meeting, and Conference Opening Ceremony.

Thursday 18 & Friday 19 July - Two days of conference

The WASLI Board has carefully considered the keynotes to reflect the theme of the conference, with each keynote being a Deaf-hearing team in Liisa Kaupinnen and Raili Marjatta Ojala-Signell (Finland); Selman Hoti & Enver Kurtalani (Kosovo); and Marianne Rossi Stumpf and Ronice Müller de Quadros (Brazil).

The WASLI Organising Committee has secured the Université Paris-Descartes as our conference venue. This is a centrally located venue in the heart of the Paris Latin Quarter, with plenty of affordable accommodation, entertainment and dining options surrounding it.

Prior to the conference will be Pre Conference workshops at the same venue. These hold only limited places so be sure to add them to your registration cart.
