Yorgos Bechlivanoglou

Yorgos will be facilitating six specialised workshops for Intermediate and Advanced Classical Guitarists looking to refine their technique.

Yorgos Bechlivanoglou was born in Piraeus in 1974. He began studying classical guitar at the age of 12.
In 1993 he received his "Excellent Excellence" Guitar Degree from the National Conservatory under Vassilis Mastorakis and in 1995 his "Excellent Excellence and First Prize" from the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki with Professor Kostitsi.
He received his Higher Degree in Harmony in 2004 from the Skalkota Conservatory under the tutelage of Michael Travlos. He attended seminars where he taught great composers and guitarists such as Leo Brouwer, Aniello Desiderio, Thomas Müller Pering, Hubert Kappel and others.
He was awarded four national and international awards at competitions in Greece (Volos, Archanes) and abroad (Las Palmas-Spain, Sinaia-Romania).
A studied and internationally awarded classical guitarist, Yorgos Bechlivanoglou is also Artistic Director of the Greek Guitar Festival “All That Guitar” and the maker of Moov Guitars, an innovative brand of travel guitars which he will be demonstrating at the festival.
Yorgos will also be delivering an in depth lecture on right hand classical techniques and an evening performance with Alan Banks in the Main Auditorium.
