We've realised you need more time to consider entering this Competition.

We have moved the dates and each session is now a full day. Are you interested?

This is an opportunity for you, a friend, a group, or a tertiary student to work towards this event in 2018.

About the program: This is a five-month long program of five full-day sessions starting on Saturday, September 30th, October 21st, November 18th, December 16th and January 20th from 9 - 4pm. The first session starts with brainstorming and developing ideas, concepts, timelines, committment and expectations. Followed with sessions of group support and mentoring. The final session will be all about the Application process, your Artist Statement, Models, Makeup and Photography of garments.

About Louise Wells.

Louise is an experienced textile artist who has been very successful at the Wearable Art Mandurah Competition. This year Louise was Winner of the Avant-Garde with "Everlasting Love?" and a contributing artist to the "Mariposa' project. Her experiene of several entries over the years will offer you an insight into being a winner. Louise will guide you step-by-step through the process and challenges to create and enter your work in the upcoming 2018 competition.

Suitable for Beginners, Tertiary Students, Groups (1 or 2 people) and Individuals.

#1 Do I have to be a WAFTA member to attend this workshop?

Yes. All WAFTA workshops are for WAFTA members only unless otherwise stated. If you would like to attend this workshop please complete a membership application and payment - Membership is $65 (conc. $55) per financial year payable by PayPal. Once we have confirmed receipt of your payment you will be eligible to book a place on a WAFTA workshop.

#2 Do you have a waiting list if this workshop is fully booked?

Yes, if the workshop is full up please do register your name on our waiting list through Eventbrite. Should a participant be unable to attend, due to unforseen circumstances, this will enable us to release their ticket to the first available person on the waiting list. An email notification will be sent to you via Eventbrite with instructions on completing your transaction. You will need to have a confirmed WAFTA membership to be eligible.

#3 What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is plenty of car parking at Alexander Park Craft House. - Google maps offers driving and public transport directions, or visit Transperth to plan your journey.

#5 What's the refund policy?

Please consider your participation in this workshop carefully. We can only offer a refund if it is possible to find another WAFTA member to take your place. Tickets are not transferable by the purchaser. Please contact info@waftacom.au in the event you are unable to attend and we will do our best to find a replacement from our waiting lists or the wider membership. WAFTA workshops are strictly for WAFTA members unless otherwise stated. If you are not currently a WAFTA member we would love you to join us - hop along to our membership page to enrol.

#6 Is there a Membership requirements to enter the event?

This is a Members Only event however for Tertiary Students we are offering a Wafta Membership within the price of the ticket.

#7 There are no additional costs above the cost of the program and joining Wafta (if you need to).

You will need to pay for your entry fees to the WAM Competition and for all the materials and equipment you choose to use in the making of your piece etc, as you would without joining this group.
