Event description
Adapt a local story or identify the best format for your own story!

About this Event

WA Stories is an opportunity for local writers to witness a series of highly diverse, Australian stories pitched to receive professional assessment from a panel representing each industry sector: short film, documentary, web-series, TV, and feature film. Designed to identify the optimal angle to approach the formatting of each presented story, this event will also aid writers in identifying the correct format for their own ideas, whilst connecting local voices with producers, directors, and screenwriters.

You are invited to ‘Storytellers Pitch’ at the Centre for Stories

About: The Centre for Stories cultivates stories that inspire listeners, sparks empathy, and challenges intolerance. Our focus is on empowering people whose experiences and perspectives are often marginalised. This includes refugees, migrants, people of colour, sexual minorities, the elderly, and people with disabilities.

Join several storytellers of diverse backgrounds and experiences as they pitch their personal story to you. With room to chat afterwards, this event is sure to spark inspiration in writers for the screen.

When: Friday 7th June 6PM-7.30PM

Where: Centre for Stories, 100 Aberdeen Street Northbridge 6003
