Event Details

The VWMA in partnership with Alex Fraser, Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) and Australian Organic Recyclers Association (AORA) invites you to take part in an immersive industry experience, and join one of three special tours taking place on Friday the 25th of October following Waste Expo Australia (23 and 24 October). 

 

The VWMA will be running 3 concurrent tours to showcase the waste and recycling industry including some exciting ways that manufacturers are working to make packaging more sustainable. 

 

All tours will depart from Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre at 8:30am (sharp) and will return before 3:30pm. 

Please note that VWMA, APCO, AIP, AFGC and AORA members have special rates on all the tours listed below. 

Tour 1 - Construction and Demolition, and Construction Tour

Delegates on this immersive C+D tour will be exposed to the dynamic and innovative solutions being delivered by leading businesses across Metropolitan Victoria to tackle problematic "waste" materials and repurposing them to be used as part of Australia's biggest infrastructure build.

Tour 2 - Packaging Supply Chain Tour

 

Collaboration is key as Australia works to achieve the 2025 National Packaging Targets, join this eye opening tour through the packaging supply chain to better understand how industry is coming up with innovative approaches to move towards a circular economy. Co-hosts for this tour are the Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) and Australian Food and Grocery Council (AFGC).

Tour 3 - Organics and Composting Tour

Delegates on this interactive tour will explore the material stream that has the most potential to transform how Australia thinks about waste and resource recovery. “Organics, green waste, FOGO” has the potential to be rolled out across Victoria but a number of barriers and challenges still exist for this industry. This tour will help you better understand how industry is tackling our growing waste problem while touring some of Victoria’s newest waste and resource recovery facilities.

Ticket price includes: Coach/travel costs from MCEC, hi-vis vest, ear plugs, morning tea, bottled water and lunch. If you have your own: re-usable bottle and hi-vis vest we encourage you bring it along (you can select this when you book your tickets).
