Description

Summer by the Sea is Victoria's annual celebration of the coast. Run by Coastcare in conjunction with the Bayside Environmental Friends Network, Summer by the Sea hosts free family friendly events along the Victorian coastline.

DDA will be participating in Summer By The Sea on Wednesday 10th January 2018 at Ricketts Point Marine Sanctuary. The program will run 2 sessions from 10:00am to 11:00 and 12:00 - 1:00 with 6 clients in each session.

DDA will run a second Disabled Snorkelling event at;

Time: 9:00 - 2:00


DDA will provide a Disabled Snorkelling program, providing people of various abilities the opportunity to experience a day at the beach in a new light. People with disabilities will be able to gain confidence in accessing the beach and water environment with the assistance of DDA. This event is designed to inspire and give people with disabilities the opportunity to put the fun back into life.

To run this program, we will need volunteers for the following;

  • Snorkel guides / assistance in the water at a min ratio of 2 to 1

  • Equipment managers to book out and in snorkelling equipment including wetsuits

  • Logistic managers to log clients in and out of the water

  • Admin manager to ensure all the required forms are completed before clients enter the water

  • Chariot handlers plus more
