About this event

On the advice of health authorities, the Bright Futures Queanbeyan event has unfortunately been cancelled due to the threat of coronavirus (COVID-19). We're deeply disappointed, but the health and well-being of the community is our top priority. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience, and would like to thank everyone that registered or simply planned to attend over the course of the weekend.

We Want You

In 2020, the NRMA will embark on a very special road trip tour to mark our centenary, with events being held right across NSW. To help our centenary celebrations be a big success, we need a big team of dedicated volunteers – and we want you!

We’re looking for volunteers to help us out at Queanbeyan Showgrounds. This event is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get involved and make a real difference in a beautiful community – as we celebrate our centenary together.

Before completing the volunteer application, here are some details you need to know:

You must be aged over 18 to volunteer.

There are limited volunteer spaces and there will be a selection process to ensure we have the right people with the right skills – not everyone will be chosen to volunteer for these events. If we don’t contact you about volunteering, feel free to still attend and enjoy your day.

You will need to apply for a Working with Children Check, which is free from the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian. Please allow sufficient time to apply for your WCC as it is a two-part process.

Volunteers will be responsible for getting to and from the touring location, including any associated costs. Please read the Volunteer FAQS and Volunteer Rights and Responsibilities for more details.

This is a full day commitment (with breaks included, of course). You will need to be available from 7:45am.

Your family and friends are welcome to register to volunteer also.

Volunteer roles include – but are not limited to – assisting with the Help Desk, staging, Kids Zone and general enquiries.

Successful applicants will be issued a volunteer Polo shirt, hat and food voucher on the day.

Just so you know, Eventbrite is handling your volunteering registration request on behalf of the NRMA. Your personal information will be managed securely and transferred to the NRMA for future communication, so we can keep you updated with event information.
