Description

To celebrate National Volunteer Week 2019, Canberra’s Cultural Institutions Volunteer Network are offering a week of free tours and activities.

Come with us on a special tour behind the scenes of this world class collection of amazing specimens. Learn about Geoscience Australia's vast work program and archive, interesting minerals as well as some of their properties, fossils of megafauna and more.

Two tours will be offered on Tuesday 21 May (3.30pm) and Thursday 23 May (3.30pm).

Limited to 14 places per tour – volunteers and guests welcome, suitable for ages 8 and over, please arrive at least 5-10 minutes earlier to obtain a visitor pass from reception. Tours are expected to take around 2 hours.

Where is the meeting point?

The tours will leave from Geoscience Australia's Reception. External visitors will need to sign in with Security at Reception.

What do I need to wear for the tour?

Please note for safety reasons, all visitors will need to have covered shoes.

How much walking will there be?

The tour will require a moderate walking distance and possibly access via stairs. Please notify Geoscience Australia if you require help with access.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

For security reasons we require names to match. Please update your order with the individual details of each attendee.
