Event description

Description

Organisation and community leaders play a vital role in building understanding and community support to prevent violence against women. They have the influence to bring community attention, importance and authority to this issue. Leaders must balance competing priorities and require information quickly and easily to support them in playing this role.

This event will bring together leaders from across the western metropolitan region to investigate the role of leaders and the supports they require to use their voices for improving regional understanding and support for prevention of violence against women. It will also investigate which actions are of highest and most immediate priority for implementation.

This event is part of the Victorian Government partnership project Western action plan on communicating preventing violence against women (PVAW) managed by the Western Integrated Family Violence Committee (WIFVC), Preventing Violence Together partnership and Domestic Violence Victoria. For further project information please visit this link.

This consultation is for community and organisational leaders. Other consultations are running for community groups and organisations, please refer to information on the website to find a suitable consultation, or contact vanessaborn@dvvic.org.au for further information.

Warm Regards,

Vanessa Born, Domestic Violence Victoria
& Karina Newnham, Western Integrated Family Violence Committee
