Visual Impairment Week with VisAbility
Mon. 24 October 2016, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm AWST
In collobration with VisAbility the Independent Living Centre is offering a range of FREE information sessions for people living with a visual impairment, their families and carers. Service providers and health professionals are also welcome to attend.
*You are welcome to register to just one session or all sessions.
Monday 24th October:
2:00pm-3:00pm: Information session and demonstration of daily living aids to assist a person with visual impariment. Come and view the demonstration on a range of daily living aids and appliances including a kitchen demostration to complete task more easily in all aspects of daily living skills.
3:00pm-4:00pm: Orthoptist information session on eye conditions and visual screening. This session will provide more information on the assesment, diagnoses and management of vision disorders in both adults and children.
Tuesday 25th October:
2:00pm-3:00pm: Orientation and mobility information session. Come and hear from the experts how to confidently move through space, travel on trains and buses and make best use of the remaining vision and other senses to find your way.
Thursday 27th October:
2:00pm-3:00pm: VisAbility library service information session on a wide range of innovate services to make materials accessible for people who are blind or vision impaired, or who have a print disability. Come and find out more.
