Description

Portland locals are invited to climb on board the Australian National Maritime Museum’s HMB Endeavour replica at Trawler Wharf.

Visitors to this floating museum will learn how 18th century crew went about their tasks during Cook's epic 1768-71 world voyage, when he became the first to chart Australia's east coast. They will see the mess deck where sailors lived and ate, and the Great Cabin where botanist Josepth Banks worked with his scientists to document botanical specimens.

For the adventurous, it's an opportunity to speak with the ship's crew to find out about upcoming voyage to Sydney on Endeavour, one of the world's most accurate maritime replica vessels.
