Event description

Description

Victoria's premier climate change conference for local government is on!

The conference will highlight best practice in climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts, drawing on experts and case studies from across Australia. It is designed to encourage councils to learn about future opportunities in encouraging a transition to a climate adaptive, clean energy future.

Includes both general and specialist sessions, allowing some staff (e.g. planners, procurement managers etc.) to dip in and out on the day. Topics include:

  • Large scale renewable energy purchasing

  • Urban heat island effects

  • Low income households

  • Business engagement

  • Planning responses to climate change

  • Emissions from waste projects

  • Measuring climate change mitigation and adaptation projects

  • Behaviour change

  • Climate emergency

  • Community energy and microgrids

Our guest speaker is Giles Parkinson, founder and editor of Australia's leading renewable energy website, RenewEconomy.

Places are limited so get in quick.

The Victorian Greenhouse Alliances Conference is proudly supported by Take 2 and Sustainability Victoria.
