Victoria University Sydney Graduation Celebration

The Graduation Celebration is not intended as an official graduation ceremony.

Official graduation ceremonies are conducted by Victoria University in Melbourne.

The Graduation Celebration is our way to connect with students who have completed during the pandemic so we can celebrate your achievement together in Sydney.

We are so very proud of all our VU Sydney students who have completed their studies during the pandemic.

Everyone, everywhere was affected.

We acknowledge that for international students in Australia, the pandemic was particularly difficult to navigate.

In spite of these challenges you have managed to complete your studies. Across 2020 and 2021 nearly 1500 VU Sydney students graduated.

You have made everyone so very proud!

We want to celebrate you and your stories.

We will have a VU Sydney Graduation Celebration on 08 July at The Sydney Masonic Centre from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

Help us celebrate your stories by submitting a short video (no longer than 60 seconds) that shows us how you managed to overcome challenges and graduate from your studies. We also want to submit photos you may have to share with us.

If you do not want to make a video submission – we would gladly receive some content from you in the form of a simple Word Document that outlines how you were able stay focused.

These are some thought starters that might help.

• What challenges did you overcome to engage with their studies?

• How did you keep focus when the world around them in such upheaval?

• Did they you anything special to keep inspired, or inspire others?

• Do you want to mention a teacher who was ‘good in the zoom?

• Did you have friends to provide support and help keep spirits up?

• Did you connect in virtual spaces outside of classroom to stay connected with friends and family?

We will be giving out prizes for the best submissions received – your story is so important to us.
