The reliability and performance of your critical high voltage electrical assets - including transformers, circuit breakers, switches and relays directly affects your facility's performance and profitability. The health and performance of your assets can directly determine impact on your success.

HV maintenance

The day will have Loy Yang B power Station's Electrical Plant Engineers present on overall philosophy of HV maintenance, Asset strategy and Protection systems. We will also have a presentation from Mark Stewart, Chemical Services Manager at Select Solutions(Ausnet) sharing his insights on chemical analysis aspects for condition monitoring of HV assets.

Select Solutions

High voltage assets are a significant investment and simply just replacing them at what is deemed their usefull life is not always an option. So what are suitable maintenance strategies to have these assets performing suitably, reliably and a suitable service life ?

This common interest work group will focus on the maintenance of high voltage assets and particularly in extending their life. Alinta Energy's Loy Yang B power station will share their approach and learnings with maintenance on these assets.

Come learn from Alinta Energy and share your experience and practices with others. Come along to this event and discuss topics like:

  • Transformers
  • Relays

  • Switches and switchboards
  • Extending the life of HV assets
  • Tools and techniques

About SIRF Rt Common Interest Work Groups

All SIRF Rt events are designed to provide a safe environment for open discussion with peers on the topic of interest they are working on, in and around. SIRF Rt Common Interest Work Groups (CWIG’s) provide the best forum for peer-to-peer learning and best practice sharing. Participants are asked to bring something for ‘show and tell’ about the topic of the day as it applies at their organisation – a mini presentation (2 slides), something that you can present in 5min maximum. It could comprise a few photos, a brief descriptions of the current efforts/learnings, a couple of charts or graphs – anything that will help improve the discussion or share knowledge or expertise. After each company shares the deeper discussion follows, guided by our practiced facilitators.
