Join Dr Stephanie Frade, Exercise Physiologist and postdoctoral researcher from the University of Sydney and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, for an interactive session on the role of exercise in scleroderma. This talk will explore the benefits of being active for managing symptoms and overall wellbeing, address common barriers faced by people living with scleroderma, and provide practical, evidence-based strategies to help you exercise safely and confidently. This will be a practical and interactive session, providing an opportunity for you to get moving in the session, ask questions, and seek advice on how to exercise right!
Exercise and Scleroderma: Practical Strategies for Moving Safely and Confidently
Stephanie is an early career researcher at the University of Sydney and honorary Exercise Physiologist in the rheumatology department at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. She completed a PhD thesis on the safety and effectiveness of exercise in Systemic Sclerosis and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus through the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ). Stephanie has a passion for patient advocacy and serves as the Vice President of the Scleroderma Association of NSW and a board member of Scleroderma Australia, where she supports the community through exercise education, support groups, and research.
