10th May Morning Session (9:00am - 12:30pm)

Exploring the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships Curriculum Resource Topics 7 & 8

Opportunity to become familiar with the learning activities designed to help students:

- challenge stereotypes and critique the influence of gender norms

- learn about key issues relating to human rights and gender identity

- focus on the importance of respect within relationships

- build an understanding of the effects of gender-based violence and focus on the standards associated with respectful relationships

- develop skills to solve problems and set boundaries within relationships

- develop peer support and help-seeking skills that can be applied in response to situations involving gender-based violence.

* Participants should be those implementing the teaching program in schools.

10th May Afternoon session (1pm - 4pm)

VCAA Specialist Teacher - Assessing Respectful Relationships against the Health and Personal and Social Capabilities Curriculum Areas

This session will provide an opportunity to learn about

a) Principles of quality assessment

b) If we can explicitly teach it, we can assess it

c) Strategies and tools for assessment relevant to respectful relationships

d) Developing valid and reliable assessment

* Participants should be those implementing the teaching program in schools.

To register for both sessions select both morning and afternoon ticket options.

To register for VCAA 1/2 day session select the afternoon ticket option only.

To register for 4R Resource exploring Topic 7 & 8 session select the morning ticket option only.
