This workshop explores ways a disability services agency can develop workers and teams that have a higher capacity to be effective in their work.
The journey begins with how providers can seek out values-driven people in their recruitment processes, and how they can build a values culture for existing staff.
We then examine the quality of communications within a team, and between team members and the people they serve. This includes a look at team processes, the art of asking, and conflict resolution.
In human services, it is not easy to get things right the first time. So we look at what persistence means, and how people and teams develop habits of learning.
Finally, we look at how people and teams develop habits of curiosity and connection in their local communities, including finding hidden opportunities for the people they serve.
Overall, this workshop is designed to be a primer, to stimulate participants’ thinking about how to grow, contribute to, and sustain, high-performing people in their agency.
The workshop is targeted at the following: agency senior leaders, mid-level leaders, frontline leaders, frontline workers, and staff working in human resources and other corporate support.
