An Interdisciplinary Approach to Arts Education

 The whole process from print to hang - in this workshop primary teachers will learn how to collaborate with colleagues and co-construct a curriculum unit to create an interdisciplinary exhibition project including Arts, mathematics and enterprise. Nat (a visual arts specialist) and Sharron (a primary classroom teacher) will take you through how to run an exhibition project - from concept development to community engagement – and everything in between. Nat will demonstrate her printmaking process and attendees will create their own prints. You will leave armed with all the knowledge and practical skills needed to initiate your own collaborative interdisciplinary project at your school.

Presenters: 

Natalie Castree and Sharron Jones

Specialist arts teacher and upper primary classroom teacher who have worked together to create a successful interdisciplinary unit with a visual art focus.  

Natalie Castree was the recipient of the Minister for the Arts award in 2016.

Recommended for

Suitable for R – 7 Classroom teachers and primary principals.

Participants are encouraged to bring a colleague to work with and plan a project.

- Interdisciplinary approach to education,

 - Supporting learning across the curriculum using the arts and arts practices

- Practice visual arts activities that could be used for an interdisciplinary approach in the classroom.

 

When: Friday 20th July 2018, 9:00am – 1:00 pm

Where: Blackfriars Priory School, 17 Prospect Road, Prospect SA
VAESA will supply a light morning tea.

 Cost: $50.00 Members, $65.00 Non-Members.

Cancellations and refunds.The minimum number of participants is 10. In the event that we do not have enough participants by Wednesday the 11th July, all registrations will be refunded in full and the workshop will be cancelled. If a participant is unable to attend the workshop and is able to cancel before the 11th of July, they will receive a full refund please contact administration@ceasa.asn.au or phone 84635875. If a participant is unable to attend and cancels after the 11th July there will be no refund but the booking name can be changed to a friend or colleague with the same membership status, or pay the difference for change of membership status, a $5 transfer fee will apply.
