V Stars Mindful Series brings you fascinating folks, who are helping people reconnect to our minds, bodies and the planet through fun and engaging means.
This month we are looking at how the love of food can become a craving and even an addiction! How do we know when this occurs and how to address it.
Robyn Chuter has come up with some questions we can ask ourselves, just to check in.
Do any of these statements describe you or someone close to you?
· No matter how much or what you eat, you never quite feel satisfied.
· You anticipate your favourite food treats, but feel let down after you've eaten them.
· You keep a secret stockpile of 'emergency' snacks, just in case you need a 'fix'.
· You need to know when and what you'll be eating next, or you start to feel panicky.
· You continue to overeat particular foods, which prevents you from losing excess weight.
If so, you may be suffering from one of the most common but under-recognised health issues in our society: Food Addiction.
Food addiction is real, and it takes a terrible toll on your health, self-esteem, relationships, career success and financial position.
The good news is, you can recover from food addiction. There are four crucial steps to take, to establish a healthy relationship with food and with your body. On the night Robyn will share these steps with us.
